A broader industry than accounting, jobs in finance generally imply dealing with financial matters within a company setting or outside financial services group, and work as a financial umbrella. The individual advisor will generally work on the buy or sell side, purchasing investments for the company portfolio or helping to sell products for securities dealers, respectively.

Financial controller jobs are some of the highest paying positions within the financial industry. Controller jobs delve into financial reports that need to be prepared, including balance sheets and income statements, Controllers are often in charge of special reporting for regulatory services, as well as supervising the accounting or finance department within the company.
