Auto sales jobs can be found with car dealerships which are the critical link between car manufacturers and the customer. Comprised of two divisions, franchised dealers normally sell new vehicles that are manufactured by a particular company and may include several brands. Sometimes vehicle manufacturers develop their own training manuals for training related to their vehicles.

Data from The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects an 11 percent growth for jobs in auto sales over the 2006 to 2016 decade. As the economy gains strength there will be more open opportunities. The need to replace workers who either retire or transfer to other careers will also create job openings. Some dealerships are even trying to reduce employee turnover by sales persons by using alternative sales methods or compensation systems and even paying salaries versus commissions. This may attract more sales persons and cause less employee turnover.
